The greeting and description of Jesus

3:7 And to the ~~angel~~ [messenger or pastor] of the church in Philadelphia write;

[1] These things saith

[a.] he that is holy,

[b.] he that is true,

[c.] he that hath the key of David [God’s sure mercies (2 Sam. 7:15, Acts 13:34); and the power to open and shut, lock and unlock, and bind and loose with the keys (authority) of the kingdom (Matt. 16:19)],

[d.] he that openeth, and

[11.] no man shutteth; and

[e.] [he that] shutteth, and

[11.] no man openeth;

The commendation

3:8 [1] I know

[a.] thy works:

[2] behold,

[a.] I have set before thee an open door [not the Rapture of the Church, but the windows of heaven: wealth and riches for the end time harvest of souls (Deut. 8:18): Money cometh to the body of Christ], and

[11.] no man can shut it: for thou

[aa.] hast a little strength, and

[bb.] hast kept my word, and

[cc.] hast not denied my name.

No admonition

3:9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan,

[1] which say they are Jews,

[a.] and are not,

[b.] but do lie;

[2] behold, I will make them

[a.] to come and

[11.] worship before thy feet [for all the wealth and riches that I will give you], and

[b.] to know that

[11.] I have loved thee.

3:10 Because

[1] thou hast kept the word of my patience,

[2] I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation,

[a.] which shall come upon all the world,

[11.] to try them that dwell upon the earth [this is the wrath of God poured out during the last 3 ½ years of the Antichrist Covenant week and Daniel's 70^th week, before the second coming of Jesus to reign upon the earth. It is the latter rain Philadelphia Church which gets raptured].

3:11 Behold,

[1] I come quickly:

[2] hold that fast which thou hast,

[a.] that no man take thy crown.

The reward for obedience

3:12 Him that overcometh will I

[1] make a pillar

[a.] in the temple of my God, and

[2] he shall go no more out: and

[3] I will write upon him

[a.] the name of my God, and

[b.] the name of the city of my God,

[11.] [which is] new Jerusalem,

[aa.] which cometh down out of heaven

[111.] from my God: and

[4] [I will write upon him] my new name.

3:13 He that hath an ear, let him hear

[1] what the Spirit saith unto the churches.
