WHAT TIME IT IS®

FIRST THESSALONIANS 3

1 Thes. 3:1  Wherefore when we could no longer forbear, we thought it good to be left at Athens alone;

 3:2  And

            [1] sent Timotheus,

                        [a.] our brother, and

                        [b.] minister of God, and

[c.] our fellowlabourer in the gospel of Christ [the gospel of the Anointed One and His Anointing] ,

                                    [11.] to establish you, and

[12.] to comfort you concerning your faith:

The Church is appointed to afflictions, persecutions, and tribulation

3:3  That no man should be moved by these afflictions [1 Thes. 1:6]:

[1] for yourselves know that we are appointed [#2749] thereunto.

[#2749, keimai, to lie outstretched, be (appointed, laid up, made, set ), lay, lie (Matt. 3:10; 28:6; Phil. 1:17; 1 Thes. 3:3; Rev. 4:2; Rev. 21:16) (c/p. #5087, 1 Thes. 5:9)]

 3:4  For verily,

[1] when we were with you,

[2] we told you before that

                        [a.] we should suffer tribulation [#2346];

[11.] even as it came to pass, and ye know.

[#2346, thilbo, to crowd, afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble (Matt. 7:14; 2 Cor. 1:6, 1 Thes. 3:4,  2 Thes. 1:6-7) (c/p. #2347, 1 Thes. 1:6)]

Satan is the tempter

3:5      [1] For this cause, when I could no longer forbear,

[2] I sent to know your faith, lest by some means

[a.] the tempter have tempted you [through afflictions, persecutions, and tribulation], and

[b.] our labour be in vain.

3:6  But now when Timotheus came from you of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also [to see] you: unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity, and that ye have good remembrance

 3:7  Therefore, brethren,

[1] we were comforted over you

[a.] in all our affliction [1 Thes. 1:6] and

                        [b.] [in all our] distress

                        [c.] by your faith:

3:8      [2] For now we live,

[a.] if ye stand fast in the Lord.

At the Rapture of the Church Jesus joins the dead in Christ

with those remaining alive to meet Him in the air

3:12  And the Lord make you

[1] to increase and abound in love

                        [a.] one toward another, and

                        [b.] toward all [men],

[c.] even as we [do] toward you:

3:13  To the end he may

[1] stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness

[a.] before God, even our Father,

[b.] at the coming [1 Thes. 2:19] of our Lord Jesus Christ [when we see Him and shall be like Him (1 John 3:2)]

[a.] with all his saints [His Church (1 Thes. 4:14, 1 Thes. 4:17)].
