Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of World Kingdoms
Dan. 2:1 And in the second year of the reign of
Nebuchadnezzar,
[1] Nebuchadnezzar dreamed
dreams, wherewith
[a.] his spirit was troubled, and
[b.] his sleep brake from him.
_______________
2:16
Then
[1] Daniel went in, and
[a.] desired of the king that he would give him time, and
[11.] that
he would show the king the interpretation.
2:17
Then
[2] Daniel went to his
house, and
[a.] made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
2:18 [11.] That they would desire mercies
of the God of heaven
[aa.] concerning
this secret;
[12.] that Daniel and his
fellows should not perish
[aa.] with the rest of the wise [men] of Babylon.
2:19 Then was [after prayer]
[1] the secret revealed unto Daniel
[a.] in a
night vision.
[2] Then Daniel blessed
the God of heaven.
2:20
Daniel answered and said,
[1] Blessed be the name of God
[a.] for ever and ever: for
[2] wisdom [is His] and
[3] might are [is] his:
2:21 And
[4] he changeth the times and
[5] [he changeth]the seasons [c/p.
Dan. 7:25]:
[6] he removeth kings, and
[7] [he] setteth up kings:
[8] he giveth wisdom unto the wise,
and
[9] [he giveth] knowledge
to them that know understanding:
2:22 [10] He revealeth the deep [things] and
[11] [he revealeth the] secret things:
[12] he knoweth what [is] in the
darkness, and
[13] the light dwelleth with him.
2:23 I
[1] thank thee, and
[2] praise thee, O thou
God of my fathers,
[a.] who hast given me wisdom and might, and
[b.] hast made known unto me now what we desired
of thee [answered
prayer]:
[11.] for thou hast [now] made known unto us the
king's matter.

Nebuchadnezzar's
vision is for the latter days
2:26
The king answered and said to Daniel,
[1] whose name [was]
Belteshazzar,
[a.] Art thou able to make known unto me
[11.] the dream which I have seen, and
[12.] the interpretation thereof?
2:27
Daniel answered in the presence of the king, and said,
[1] The secret which the
king hath demanded
[a.] cannot [these cannot reveal the secret]
[11.] the wise [men],
[12.] the astrologers,
[13.] the magicians,
[14.] the soothsayers,
show unto the king;
[2] there is a God in heaven
[a.] that
revealeth secrets, and
[b.] [that] maketh
known to the king Nebuchadnezzar
[1.] what shall be in the latter
days (vs.
Dan. 10:14).
[3] Thy
[a.] dream, and the
[b.] visions of thy head
[11.] upon thy bed,
are these [God will speak to a king
about his kingdom] ;
