REVELATION 22

 

The river of life

 

Rev. 22:1  And he showed me

            [1] a pure river of water of life,

                        [a.] clear as crystal,

                        [b.] proceeding out of the throne

                                    [11.] of God and

                                    [12.] of the Lamb.

 22:2  [2] In the midst of the street of it [the city], and

            [3] on either side of the river,

                        [a.] [was there] the tree of life,

[11.] which bare twelve [manner of] fruits [each tree bares twelve different kinds of fruit, but there an innumerable variety of fruit combinations],

                                    [12.] [and] yielded her fruit every month: and

                                    [13.] the leaves of the tree [were] for the healing of the nations. 

 22:3  And

            [1] there shall be no more curse: but

            [2] the throne

                        [a.] of God and

                        [b.] of the Lamb

                                    [11.] shall be in it [the city]; and

            [3] his servants [His Church (c/p. Rev. 3:12, Rev. 7:15)]

[a.] shall serve him [it is the Church that will serve God throughout eternity]:

 22:4  And      [a.] they shall see his face; and

                        [b.] his name [shall be] in their foreheads.

 22:5  And                 

            [4.] there shall be no night there; and

                        [a.] they need no candle,

                        [b.] neither light of the sun;

                        [c.] for the Lord God giveth them light: and

            [5] they shall reign for ever and ever.

 

This messenger is a redeemed Jew* 

 22:6  And

            [1] he said unto me,           

                        [a.] These sayings [are] faithful and true: and

            [2] the Lord God

                        [a.] of the holy prophets

                        [b.] sent his angel [messenger  (Rev. 1:1, Rev 19:10)]

                                    [11.] to show unto his servants [the Church] the things

[aa.] which must shortly be done [when these things begin to happen, they will be completed in a short time].

 22:7  [3] Behold,

                        [a.] I come quickly:

                        [b.] blessed [empowered to prosper] [is] he that

                                    [11.] keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book. 

22:8  And

            [1] I John

                        [a.] saw these things, and

                        [b.]  heard [them].

            [2] And when I had

                        [a.] heard and

                        [b.] seen,

                                    [11.] I fell down to worship

[aa.] before the feet of the angel [messenger (Rev. 1:1, Rev 19:10)] 

                                                            [111] which showed me these things.

 22:9  [3] Then saith he unto me,

                        [a.] See [thou do it] not: for I am

                                    [11.] thy fellowservant [a born again member of the Church], and

                                    [12.] of thy brethren the prophets [Jewish], and

                                    [13.] of them which keep the sayings of this book:

                                                [aa.]  worship God.
