The
revelation of Jesus: His
second coming
1:7 Behold,
[1] he cometh with clouds [God
rides on a swift cloud (Isa. 19:1);
in His return, He shall be accompanied by a great
cloud of witnesses (Heb. 12:1; Jude 14)]; and
[2] every eye shall see him, and
[3] they [also] which pierced him
[shall see him]: and
[4] all kindreds of the earth
shall wail
[11.] because of him.
Even so, Amen.
[1] Alpha and
[2] Omega,
[3] the beginning and
[4] the ending,
saith the Lord,
[a.] which is,
and
[b.] which
was, and
[c.] which is
to come [Jesus likewise inhabits all of eternity (c/p.
Rev. 1:4 )],
the Almighty.
[1] your brother, and
[2] [your] companion in tribulation, and
[3] [your companion] in the kingdom and
[4] [your companion in the] patience of Jesus Christ,
was in the isle that is
called Patmos, [c/p. vs. 2;
6:9]
[a.] for the word of God, and
[b.] for the testimony
[witness (c/p. vs.
Rev.
1:2;
Rev. 6:9;
Rev. 12:11,
Rev. 12:17;
Rev.
19:10; Rev. 20:4)]
[11. ] of Jesus Christ.
[1] was in the Spirit
[a.] on the Lord's day [John
was given a spiritual vision of the
Day
of the Lord (c/p. Joel 1:15; Zeph. 1:14-18)], and
[2] heard behind me
[a.] a great voice,
[11.] as of a trumpet,
1:11 Saying,
[b.] I am
[11.] Alpha and
[12.] Omega,
[13.] the first and
[14.] the last: and,
[c.] What thou
seest,
[11.] write in a book, and
[12.] send [it] unto the seven churches which are in Asia;
[aa.] unto Ephesus, and
[bb.] unto Smyrna, and
[cc.] unto Pergamos, and
[dd.] unto Thyatira, and
[ee.] unto Sardis, and
[ff.] unto Philadelphia, and
[gg.] unto Laodicea.
