REVELATION 5 Pg 2

Heaven sings of the redeemed Church still on the earth

 5:9  And they [the zoe and the elders] sung a new song, saying,

            [1] Thou art worthy

                        [a.] to take the book, and

                        [b.] to open the seals thereof: for

            [2] thou wast slain, and

[3] [thou] hast redeemed us [them*] [the saints of Rev. 5:8] to God

[a.] by thy blood out of every [these four attributes unquestionably describe the Church (Rev. 7:9), as well as the world (Rev. 11:9)]

                                    [11.] kindred, and

                                    [12.] tongue, and

                                    [13.] people, and

                                    [14.] nation [the zoe angelic beings are not redeemed, even if the elders are];

 5:10  And hast

            [4] made us [them*] unto our God kings and priests [the zoe could never be a king or a priest and won’t reign]: and

            [5] we [they*] [the saints of Rev. 5:8] shall reign

[a.] on the earth.

[*These are unfortunate translating errors in the King James Version of the Bible, which most modern translation have corrected.  A correction of these translation errors prove the Church is still on the earth.]

Which translation of Revelation 5:9 and 10 is correct?

Compare texts:

Rev. 5:9  And they sung a new song [who sang??, the zoe angelic beings and the elders, or the elders only?], saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed [us or them] to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

 5:10  And hast made [us or them] unto our God kings and priests: and [we or they] shall reign on the earth.

1.  they sung [who sang??]:  the beasts and the elders

a.  Verse 9 has to read …and hast redeemed them…because angels are not redeemed,

b.  Verse 10 has to read…and hast made them...and they shall reign because the zoe angelic beings are not kings and priests and won’t reign.

2.  they sung [who sang??]:  the elders only

a.  Verse 9 could read…and hast redeemed us…because the elders are redeemed,

b.  Verse 10 cannot read…and hast made us...and we shall reign…because neither the elders of Israel nor the Church could be from every kindred, tongue, people and nation (vs. 9), they were all either Hebrew or Jewish, beginning with Abraham and continuing until the 12 Apostles (and perhaps a few Greeks if, as some do, one counts as elders an additional 12 mentioned in the Book of Acts).

The proper rendering of the text, therefore, can only be:

Rev. 5:9  And they [the zoe and the elders] sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed them [the saints of Rev. 5:8] to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;

 5:10  And hast made them unto our God kings and priests: and they [the saints of Rev. 5:8, the un-raptured Church] shall reign on the earth.
